Web site transfer from Umbraco 4 to Umbraco 7
I've just completed a transfer of an entire web site from umbraco 4 to umbraco 7 for a web design client based in Glasgow as part of my web design services in East Kilbride.
The transfer involved taking an existing old umbraco install and moving it to the newest version of umbraco. The site consists of over 500 pages (nodes), so all the content had to be transferred automaticaly without the need for all the pages to be manualy recreated.
The web site has been re-skinned to be more modern, cleaner and mobile responsive. All the master templates were transferred to views and partial views to make the site easier to maintain and update. New features were added, such as a site-map, xml-site-map, a search and galleries.
